Cekur

Explanation
The leaves are smooth with tapered shape, compact structured viewed in pairs of opposites. The end of the pointy leaves , about 16 cm long , 8 cm wide . The leaves have a slight fragrance . Cekur is producing white - purple flowers . Root / rhizome are branches with aromatic flesh and it is yellow and orange . Cekur is not the main ingredient in the Malaysia cuisine but has a big role in the cuisine of Indonesia , Thailand , Vietnam and India .
Usage:
In Southeast Asia , cekur rhizomes mixed with pepper , cinnamon and honey to cure cold . It is used as a tonic to cure tuberculosis and bronchitis . Cekur also used as a lotion for treating sore eyes, sore throat , swelling , fever , aches and bone . For women after childbirth,cekur helps to pull the uterus( dont ask me, im not sure what this called in English but it nearly hit the spot) and flatulence . In Indonesia , the roots used to treat food poisoning , mouth ulcers, coughs and colds . Cekur roots are chewed and swallowed can make someone go high(like drugs). In India, the fragrance of cekur used to protect clothes from insects. In the Philippines, cekur root broth is used to treat abdominal pain due to poor digestion of food . A decoction is also used for hair wash to overcome dandruff and relieve itching and painful gnawing worms. In Thailand , cekur used to treat headaches.

Bunga Cina / Melur Cina

Common Name : Bunga Cina / Melur Cina
Other names : gardenia , gardenia
Location found: flower gardens (mosly planted because it has a very nice smell)
Explanation:
Chinese flower scientific name Gardenia augusta , Merr from Rubiaceae family widely grown as an ornamental plant or as a fence because the leaves are lush and have many branches . Shaped white flowers such as roses and fragrant. White color will become yellow after fully bloom.This flowers can grow in cold or hot temperature and it is a plant that can be easily taken care of. The best climate for growth is quite cool like the mountain area with a height of about 400 meters above sea level . This tree can reach a height of 1-2 meters . They reproduce through stem and the seedling can be done by selecting a relatively old branches , remove all the leaves and infuse in poly bags filled with sand. Ensure adequate water to encourage roots growth. This tree has the potential to be commercialized because of the flower smell really fragrant and in the older day this flower is used as perfume.
Usage
It can be used to treat diabetes , thrush , fever and constipation . Diabetes how to take 12 pieces of the flowers boiled with 2 glasses of water and boiled until the volume is equal for 1 glass and drink it once a day. For thrush , the take 7 leaves blended with a cup of water and then filtered and mixed with 2 tablespoons of honey and a piece of rock sugar (i'm sorry if its wrong because i'm not really sure what it is called in english)
Drink 2 times a day . As for the fever ,squeeze 7 leaves to a cup of water mixed with rock sugar and drink 2 times a day . For constipation treatment take 3 capsules of the fruit boiled with 2 glass of water and boiled until the volume is equal to 1 glass.

If planted in pots they need to be watered every day to prevent dryness. This plant can not be too exposed to direct sunlight but need enough light to grow and bloom

Explanation:
Bangun-Bangun or also known as Ati-Ati commonly planted as green salads and flavouring in cooking. Young shoots use as ingredients for the sauce tempoyak( Malaysian cuisine) . It is also used as an ingredient for rice side dish. Bangun-Bangun easily reproduce through stem and leaf . Is the preferred medium loam soil with good drainage and sun exposure .
Usage:
Bangun-Bangun is known in Malay and Chinese medicine mainly to be a remedy for cough ,nausea , headaches and digestive problems .The leaf is brewed with hot water and put a little sugar
before drinking. The juice can also be a cure for asthma , cough and bronchitis . The leaves are crushed can be used as an antidote to poisonous insect bites and sunburn by pasting the leaves onto the affected areas .
Balik Adap

Explanation:
This plant is commonly found in villages in the bush. The leaves are composed of a mixture of green leaves and white. The flowers are orange and some white. The leaves made salads common by the villagers.
Usage:
It is used to treat fever by squeezing the leaves into a container of water as was done with flowers Chinese leaf. This water is used for scarce (wetting) the patients head to lower his body temperature.
To freshen up, boiled leaves are used for baths
